Hi everyone, I have prepared a recipe for our Affogato that we sell at our cafe. You can choose to make your own Ice cream or you can substitute it with a good quality vanilla bean ice cream. I will supply the recipe for the ice cream that we serve at Lindsay's Cafe - Australia
Vanilla Bean Ice Cream.
Ingredients:
1 litre... of Milk
1 litre of Cream
10 egg yolks
350 grams Castor Sugar
1/2 Vanilla Beans
Method:
Whisk Egg yolks and sugar until well creamed.
Slowly bring the milk, cream and Vanilla bean to the boil. (The vanilla bean needs to be split down the middle, the seeds removed and added to the milk with the vanilla pod)
Slowly pour on the boiled milk that has been infused with the vanilla pod onto the egg and sugar mixture whilst whisking.
Strain through a fine sieve.
Cool and churn in an ice cream churner.
We choose to serve our Affogato in a "coffee bowl".
We put two scoops into our coffee bowl and pour a double Ristretto directly over the top. Serve immediately
