The Young Sierrans is the best hiking group east of the Mississippi. We dine together at socials on the second Thursday of each month, and on the Saturday that follows we hike, bike, camp, backpack, or kayak the day away.

History
When Kathy and Angela decided they wanted to start a hiking group for people in their 20s and 30s in Baltimore City, they turned the the Sierra Club. The Greater Baltimore Group of the Maryland Chapter gave them a green light to start a new subgroup: The Young Sierrans. The first hike took place on September 18, 2004 at Gunpowder Falls State Park. Since then, an official Young Sierrans event has taken place monthly. Check out our website to see where we've been in our hiking boots, kayaks, backpacks, and bikes!
