Welcome to Province VIII's Facebook Group! What is a province? There are nine provinces in The Episcopal Church which includes the church in America and certain dioceses in the Carribbean. Province VIII is by far the largest in geographical population with more than 900 congregations among 17 dioceses and one Area Mission, called “Navajoland.” Our work as a province is defined by our mission statement.
The Episcopal Church in Province VIII is called by God to serve the dioceses and area mission by bringing together the diverse peoples and cultures of the mountains, deserts, islands, and coasts of Province VIII, and sharing the Pentecost vision of unity, we will do together in faith what we cannot do alone.
The Province includes the Episcopal dioceses in Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, California, Nevada, Utah, Navajoland (parts of Utah, Arizona, Texas), Arizona, Hawaii, and Taiwan.
