- Am I the only one thats pissed off with Oakville transit?
- Busses only come once an hour on route 17. Not sure about other routes.
In Mississauga the busses come around every 25 minutes. This means if the bus comes every hour on the 15 and I get off work at 6:30, I have to wait 45 minutes just to get a ride home. Maybe if it was free this would be acceptable
- The bus drivers just don't care.
I've waited at stops and have bus drivers look right at me and keep driving, they just don't care. This happens to me frequently at the Church & Dunn station
- Busses stop running ridiculously early on route 17. Again, not sure about the other routes Even on saturday night it only goes till 9:30
To summarize my above points, we should have a decent public transit system, considering the per capita taxes in Oakville are ridiculous.
quotes from the wall
------------------------------
"So I looked up the Transit Budget from the Oakville city hall website, and it is really scary:
they are increasing the fare in january to 3.00, and again in september.
they also want to have "annual incremental
increases" which means it will go up, and up, and up.
they also want additional funding revenue of $47,000 dollars for events that are free such as the waterfront festival transportation etc...
its all fucking bullshit."
"You know, if the transit system was actually good, I'd use it moar, and I wouldn't mind paying extra.
Like you said, Nate, if the buses were free, then I guess it would be okay.
I honestly don't mind paying, but seriously, if service isn't going to improve with the price increase, why would I want to pay more?"
"how about we fight for all day transfers again?
what's this bullshit about only 2 hours??
i had a situation the other day where first, the bus was late, then it loafted hardcore going places, and THEN, i was stressing that i wouldn't be able to catch my next bus and still have time on my transfer.
and $2.75? that extra quarter really does add up. the extra fee doesn't even affect the busses i take, only the ones for sheridan!...hey guys, guess what's really special
"the prices are ridiculous. It would be nice if they would post times or something on some of the stops, so you would know when the bus is actually coming... this would stop casual users from feeling alienated. The bus signs say to call for times, but dont post the number." (read less)Am I the only one thats pissed off with Oakville transit?
