Join us in encouraging Attorney General Roy Cooper to run for the U.S. Senate in 2010. Roy was re-elected to a third term as Attorney General in 2008 with over 60% of the vote, receiving more votes statewide than any other candidate of either party. A pragmatic and effective leader, he has worked to protect children from sex predators and crack down on those who scam the elderly. Before becoming Attorney General in 2001, Roy served as a state senator and state representative, where he wrote a bill that implemented children's health insurance, helped pass a Crime Victims Bill of Rights, and worked to prosecute people engaged in predatory lending.
We need Roy to be our next U.S. Senator! He will do a terrific job in Washington and will help continue to move this country forward. A recent poll by Public Policy Polling showed him already beating Richard Burr 41% to 37%. This is good news for Roy considering Burr is an incumbent and the election is so far in the future that Burr will have a lot of ground to make up. CQ Politics has already rated this race as "No Clear Favorite", an astonishing fact considering that Burr doesn't even have an opponent... yet.
Let's all come together and encourage Roy Cooper to run for U.S. Senate in 2010! Join this group and invite your friends! We can make a difference!
