Kia Ora to you the Rugby Universe,
In has been a week since the unspeakable was done and from around the world messages of solidarity have been flowing in, from the wilds of Canada to the mean streets of Exeter it is clear that the Alternative Rugby Commentary has more than enough support to win a Nobel Peace prize, but not quite enough to win X-Factor.
The valleys of Wales have sung out to the ARC as has Liverpool, Luxembourg, Llanelli, Los Angeles and other places starting with 'L' where one by one the fans have reported for duty, each asking where and when the first skirmish of this campaign will occur. During the past week I have been working feverishly behind the scenes to develop a strategy, a show of force that will send a cold message to the straight necked perpetrators of last weeks heinous action.
So here now is the first stage of that plan and what better way people that to demonstrate the power of the Rugby public than to bring the ARC to London, the scene of past victories.
And so it is with a steely eye and steady heart that I announce the following offensive.
The Alternative Rugby Commentary live in London at the House Bar on The Broadway in Wimbledon on the following dates:
November 7th - All Blacks v Wales, with special guest Jonathan Owen from Svengali
November 14th - All Blacks v Italy
November 21st - All Blacks v England
November 28th - All Blacks v France
December 5th - All Blacks v The Barbarians
It is from here that we will shake the oppressor to it's foundations with 5 monstrous shows to demonstrate to all in sundry that in the world of Rugby there is no better party than the Alternative Rugby Commentary. Bring your friends, your video camera, your digital camera and anything else that can record the action as it unfolds for nothing will strike more fear into the heart of the enemy than to see people enjoying the Rugby without their banal commentary assistance.
One can only imagine their red faces when they receive links of you enjoying the Rugby, whilst boozing and flirting and smoking and swearing and getting down to some hot tunes. Why they will be spewing that you're not sitting quietly with a Gin listening to Stuart.
Spread the word oh mighty Rugby Universe, spread it wide and spread it loud. Use all available channels, organise yourselves for what will be the moment in time where the we, the People of The Ball, will turn around to the suited and booted dealers of the boring and drab and show them two fingers raised high. And for those who make the best effort to tell people that the ARC is coming I will bestow upon you free entrance to the show and more...
