Designing With Web Standards is "the foundational web standards text". "A core text cited by many as the beginning of the true revolution." "Web standards" didn't really exist until Mr. Jeffrey Zeldman, and his colleagues, coined the term, applied it to a set of ill-enforced W3C and ECMA recommendations, and persuaded browser makers to support these core technologies accurately and completely. It changed some people's careers, launched others, shook up the industry. However imperfectly applied, web standards are behind most "Web 2.0" apps. And yet web standards are still a semi-underground movement, and standardistas are still a rare breed.

Douglas Vos is a Systems Architect with 25 years experience in IT systems. Doug read the book 2 times and decided it was time to join the standardistas. He is more of a technology generalist, who brings the disciplines of architecture, anthropology, and epistemology to the group, and acts as the moderator. He resides in Detroit.

Jeffrey Zeldman is the author of the groundbreaking book 'Designing With Web Standards' that is soon to be released in it's third edition. Dubbed the 'King of Web Standards' by BusinessWeek (http://is.gd/2V6Dd), and 'the Elvis Presley of Web Standards' (http://is.gd/44XZY) Mr. Zeldman has been active for many years in the social network of web designers.
