Early in 2009, Charlie Davies and Matt Weston started Slack Space Brighton (this fb group).
The point is/ was about putting projects into empty buildings (and having everybody happy about it). But also about a move to a more flexible 'space economy' - the way in which a space is talked about, how we describe it and define it (who owns it, who can use it, how easy it is to give it to someone else, how easy it is to change the use of the space). We ran four events, then Charlie moved to France then Norway. And that was that. It was supposed to be a tiny movement, not a big organisation. To get out the way, not in it.
