When "The Wizard" (aka "The Wizard of Elm Street", "Le Magicien", "El Hechicero", "Passe de Magica", "Czarodziej z Ulicy Wiazów") was officially canceled in the Spring of 1987, 20th Century Fox Studios, like so many others, thought the door was shut and locked. Gone from the lineup and sure to be quickly forgotten. They were not reckoning with "The Wizard". At the time, the new executive regime at Fox was so focused on severely trimming the budget at CBS Television in order to fund the new Fox Network that they had absolutely no idea what a mega-hit gold mine they were throwing away. Nor did they have any idea that "The Wizard" had absolutely no intention of obliging this massive miscalculation and severe oversight by passing quietly into oblivion.

September 9, 2009 marks the 23rd anniversary of "The Wizard"s North American premiere on CBS Television. Yet, 22 years locked in a vault has not stopped this still one-of-a-kind, action/adventure series from rerunning itself via special broadcasts in the form of memories. Memories which have fans around the world scouring the Internet desperately searching for information on a beloved show they long to watch again. To top it all off, "The Wizard" possesses a magical timeless quality which causes new viewers of any age to all but ignore outdated styles, references, and technologies. Watching as if the series has only just premiered.

The current staff at 20th Century Fox Studios is very pleased and excited to have rediscovered this powerful, magical, imaginative, diverse, family-friendly series in their vaults. They would love to release "The Wizard" to the entire world, but they need to hear from the general public around the world to make that happen.

Well, here is another opportunity to make your voice heard. Because this is an official Wizard group created by Authorized Representatives, we will be able to pass the messages left here on to 20th Century Fox Studios along with your Petition signatures and messages on The Wizard's official website.
