The English translation of the Greek word, euangelion, which means "Good News."

In the New Testament, it refers to the good news Jesus preached about God's love and the good news about Jesus that his disciples preached.

Other Definitions Include:

The four books in the New Testament (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) that tell the story of Christ's life and teachings. This is correct as they present the Birth, Life, Ministry, Crucifixion and Resurection of Jesus Christ, the Messiah. And within them is contained the Secret of the Gospel, the Good news and Through it over 300 Prophecies about the Messiah, Jesus Christ were fulfilled. This is a must read for anyone serious student of the Gospel.

So you might ask Why is this Good News? Lets explore the answer:

In 1 Corinthians 15:1-8, Paul described the gospel Jesus gave his church. Notice carefully his words: “Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.

”For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve.

After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.”

What Paul calls “of first importance” is the fact that Jesus is the Messiah or Christ, that he died for our sins, was buried and was raised, all according to the Scriptures.

Further, he highlights the fact that there were plenty of witnesses to Christ's resurrection, lest any should doubt that Jesus was really raised from the dead.

”By this gospel you are saved,” Paul asserts.

Peter said: “He [Jesus] commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one whom God appointed as judge of the living and the dead. All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name” (Acts 10:42-43).

In simple terms GOD is pure, just, holy and perfect. We on the other hand, are imperfect and Sinful. What is Sin?

An estrangement from God
An act that is regarded by theologians as a transgression of God's will. (Mainly the 10 commandments in deed or by Intend through your thoughts)

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. Gal 5:19-21

So everyone is a sinner and God hates Sin. God says that our Good works are like filthy rags to him so you can imagine what he things about SIN; He hates it!

All our righteous acts are like filthy rags (Isaiah 64:6)

The penalty for Sin is Death:

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Rom 6:23

Jesus, God's only begotten Son, took on all our Sins and nailed them to the Cross and by the shedding of his Innocent (Sinless) blood paid the Price for our Sins.

So we don't have to die? Read on...

“He opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. He told them, `This is what is written: The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things'” (Luke 24:45-48).

John wrote, “Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on him”

In other words. If we accept Jesus as our Saviour, Repent for Our Sins and Confess our Sins to Jesus, who paid the Price for us on the Cross, and truly Belief that Jesus Christ is God incarnate, who paid for our Sins by shedding his innocent blood as a ransom for our Lives You are forgiven of Your Sins and promised Eternal Life. What is more You are considered a Child of GOD and his mercy is upon You.

But I already have Contact with GOD; but not through Jesus! Well in that case listen to this:

"THERE IS A WAY THAT SEEMS RIGHT TO A MAN, BUT IN THE END IT LEADS TO DEATH." PROVERBS 14:12
"BUT YOUR INIQUITIES HAVE SEPARATED YOU FROM GOD; YOUR SINS HAVE HIDDEN HIS FACE FROM YOU, SO THAT HE WILL NOT HEAR." ISAIAH 59:2

NO BRIDGE REACHES GOD ... EXCEPT ONE. Who is the One? His name is Jesus the Living Christ, the Messiah, the image of the invisible God Incarnate. You can find more biblical definitions further down.

Jesus said: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6).

Paul wrote: “Giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins” (Colossians 1:12-14).

John wrote, “No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also” (1 John 2:23).
Paul wrote to Timothy, “For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all men — the testimony given in its proper time” (1 Timothy 2:5-6).

We are Reborn through this Process in Christ:

ROMANS 5.1 "I AM TELLING YOU THE TRUTH,"
REPLIED JESUS, "THAT NO ONE CAN ENTER THE KINGDOM OF GOD UNLESS HE IS BORN OF WATER AND THE SPIRIT." JOHN 3:5
"FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE GAVE HIS ONE AND ONLY SON, THAT WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM SHALL NOT PERISH BUT HAVE ETERNAL LIFE". JOHN 3.16

WOW! That's Amazing you have the Potential to Become a Child of GOD and Be Saved and Receive Eternal Life!

Reborn? Yes when you Repent and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour a spiritual Process starts called Regeneration:

A new heart I will give you, and a new spirit I will put within you; and I will take out of your flesh the heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to observe my ordinances. (Ezek 36:26-27)

Peter says, "You have been born anew, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God.... That word is the good news which was preached to you" (1 Peter 1:23, 35). And James says, "He chose to give us birth through the word of truth" (James 1:18 NIV)

Our Iniquities and darkness are replaced by Light and this is what Regeneration through Rebirth achieves. It's a Miracle and it's given to you FREELY; Yet another Gift!

"By grace (means Charity = Freely Given) you have been saved though faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works lest any one should boast".

You will be Transformed through the Grace and Power of GOD, once you have gone through the proces mentioned and Regenerated to become a New Creation in Christ.

Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creation.

By the Father and the Holly Spirit we are regenerated and by Repentance and Confession of our Sins and Acceptance of the Lord Jesus as our Saviour we are Saved.

It is about him as Shepherd and Overseer of our souls (1 Peter 2:25), as the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world (John 1:29), as our Passover sacrificed for us (1 Corinthians 5:7), as the image of the invisible God and the firstborn over all creation (Colossians 1:15), as the head of the church and the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead (verse 18), as the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being (Hebrews 1:3), as the revealer of the Father (Matthew 11:27), as the way, the truth and the life (John 14:6), as the door (John 10:7).

The gospel is about Christ as the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2), as the ruler of the creation of God (Revelation 3:14), the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End (Revelation 22:13), as the Branch (Jeremiah 23:5), as the chief cornerstone (1 Peter 2:6), as the power of God and the wisdom of God (1 Corinthians 1:24), as the desired of all nations (Haggai 2:7). It is about Christ the faithful and true witness (Revelation 3:14), the heir of all things (Hebrews 1:2), the light of the world (John 8:12), the living bread (John 6:51), the Root of Jesse (Isaiah 11:10), our salvation (Luke 2:30), the sun of righteousness (Malachi 4:2), the Word of life (1 John 1:1), declared with power to be the Son of God by his resurrection from the dead (Romans 1:4).

How Big is the Gift of Salvation? You are offered Eternal Life and be part of God's Family, forgiveness for your Sins, a New Heart, New Life and countless other promises which You will discover as your Read the Bible. There are no words Big enough To express how BIG the GIFT of SALVATION really is because we can't even perceive it entirely with our minds. Praise the Lord is all I can say to that. For the Glory is all His, He's an Amazing, Supernatural GOD, He is the Miracle and looks after You and He knows You Personally and You can Know him If you Choose to.

Paul expresses it nicely:

"For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us" (Rom 8:18).

In other words if the Entire World was Yours (Just imagine) and I said to you, give me everything and You will Have Eternal Life. Would you hold on to the World and die at 80 or would you Take my Offer with Both Hands? Exactly! So you've got some idea of How valuable it is, and Yet it's Given to You FREELY. Not Difficult to LOVE a GOD who lavishes such Love and Grace on Us right? Praise the Lord, Jesus Christ Your Saviour.

If you have failed in this World but you have been Saved you are Triumphant. That is the Great Gift of our Lord Jesus Christ. Are you going to Grab this Wonderfull Gift with Both hands? Think Well... for this may just be the Most Important Decision You'll ever Make in Life.
