This is the home of the 3L International Summer School on Language Documentation and Description which will be held at the School of Oriental and African Studies in London 22 June - 3 July 2009.

The summer school will cover issues in describing and documenting spoken and sign languages, with courses on a range of topics, including technology, grammar writing, tonology, Caucasian languages, language revitalisation, Amazonian languages, Cariban languages, audio and video techniques, documenting sign languages, and lexicography and specialised vocabulary. There will be a student conference at the end of the summer school and various social activities, including film evenings and parties.
