Even if you get service via a third party, the Telco believes it has the right to charge you for the use of their digital circuit i.e the local loop. This is in addition to the monthly line rental you are already paying for voice services. Whether its dialup or ADSL, Telkom is ripping us off. As consumers we pay between R70 and R152 for the mere privilege of using our own equipment, routers, modems and ISP. Let us put a stop to this hidden tax on Internet services once and for all.
