Otter Creek Park one of the largest and arguably one of the prettiest parks in the Louisville Metro area will close as of Jan. 1st. 2009 because of government shortfalls. Louisville Metro Government budget is stretched super thin, and there is no more government "fat" to be cut, at least as far as the Metro Parks budget goes.
As a concerned advocate for local parks, I am creating this group to hear suggestions and things the community might be able to do to keep this park open.
Otter Creek park creates revenue through cabin rentals, but cost thousands of dollars to keep it running, as it is a rather large park.
Please list any suggestions you may have! If enough people were to join we might be able to really accomplish something and keep the park running. One person can't do this all, but if we have a united voice we can do something!
Please invite your friends!
