- Born in Birmingham, Jackie is a well established illustrator of beautiful luminous watercolours for over 30 children's books. Her subject matter include detailed magical landscapes of different lands and times, biblical and mythological characters, the natural world involving whales, peacocks, bears, snow leopards, cats, and tigers. Publication day for Tell Me a Dragon. The French edition arrived a few days ago and is bigger and beautiful. Derek and Felicity sent me beautiful dragon eggs by post to celebrate. Thank you. Also today in the post Three Hares by Caroline Carver published by Oversteps Books.

Jackie Morris book 'Tell me a Dragon' is available soon in Spanish, Catalan, Danish, Swedish and English. French will soon also be published.

Jackie has produced a calender of cats which will be available by contacting her through her website at £20. It has 18 months starting at July 09 going through to December 10. There are pictures of her cats, and also some writing and an illustration. See Jackies journal for details. Jackies Christmas Card design is now finished for the Musicians Benevolent Fund, soon available from the MBF website (see link.)

Jackies second 'Gold' exhibition will be conjoined with Karen Green work of unique copper weather vanes (see link below) from May 5th - May 17th at The Cloisters Gallery, St Davids Cathedral, Pembrokeshire. There will be an exhibition of Jackies work at The Cloisters Gallery, St Davids Cathedral, Pembrokeshire from the 5th May - 18th May. Her work will be alongside pieces from Sara Lloyd Morris (jewelery) and Karen Green (weather vanes.)

Jackie is putting the Tenby exhibition online. It is part of the Collector Plan run by The Arts Council of Wales. This means that paintings and jewels can be bought over a ten month period, spreading the cost out. Not sure how this works for overseas payments but details can be obtained from the journal page where there are links to the gallery.

The preview of 'Gold' the joint exhibition of Jackie Morris paintings with gold leaf alongside the jewellery of Sara Lloyd-Morris is held at Tenby Museum and Gallery on March 20th.

Jackie is currently working on the new image for Terry Pratchetts Discworld Calender from 'The Amazing Maurice and his Educated Rodents' book.
She is also preparing to work on the cover design for Robin Hobbs new book, for the Soldier Son series. Jackie has already produced covers for "The Farseer Trilogy" by Robin Hobb, for Harper Collins. The books were published in August 2007 with their new jackets.

Jackie will soon be starting on a book of nursery rhymes, which she will collate and illustrate.
'Little Evie in the Woods' is another story Jackie has started, the sketches and progress can be followed on her journal page added in the link below.
'The Ice Bear' is another book Jackie is progressing with.
Tell Me A Dragon, which Jackie wrote and illustrated has now Danish, Swedish and Spanish and Catalan editions.
The Snow Leopard is also to be published in Spanish and Catalan.

Jackie has now finished and delivered the remaining artwork to the forthcoming book which at the moment is entitled 'Starlight Sailor'. September is the expected publishing date in the USA. Check out her blog for her thoughts and thanks to readers.

If you haven't done so already, I highly recommend all members to take a look at Jackie Morris's blog at www.starlightjourney.blogspot.com, or at the link below. The breath taking detail on the endpapers and copyright page of her latest book, including mapping out the constellation hemispheres are really something to see. Also her picturesque descriptions of her walks at the beaches and rolling hills surrounding her home, make the reader feel very privileged to delight in this beautiful prose for free.
