The Society of American Archivists, University of Washington Chapter (SAA-UW) strives to promote awareness of the archival profession as well as issues of preservation, whether it is conserving traditional materials like photographs or manuscripts or digital objects such as electronic journals, digital photographs, email or websites. SAA-UW also serves to create strong professional networks between students and professionals in the archival and preservation fields. As such, SAA-UW organizes a variety of activities throughout the year, including panels of guest speakers, tours to local archives, and preservation workshops.
