The Washington DC Independent Film Festival (DCIFF), an award-winning festival now in its eleventh year, continues its tradition of showcasing the best independent films with a twelve-day festival starting March 4, 2009.
ACTIVITIES
Opening Ceremonies will take place on Wednesday, March 4. Please visit the DCIFF website for more information about opening night.
Film Sessions will take place at the Phoenix Theater on the lower level of Union Station. Films with diverse political and cultural themes will be shown during twenty-three sessions over twelve nights, followed by Q&A discussions with the filmmakers. Visit the DCIFF website for a complete list of sessions.
Music Festival runs concurrent with the film festival and features local independent bands. Visit the DCIFF website for a complete list of bands.
Filmmaking Workshops & Seminars take place on Saturdays and Sundays during the festival. Participants will be given a rare opportunity to meet with and learn from preeminent independent producers and directors as well as top executives in the film industry. Advocacy Day, a special event which is free and open to the public, brings together entertainment professionals and policy makers to discuss pressing issues facing the film and video industry. Visit the DCIFF website to learn more about Advocacy Day.
