Alameda United Football Club originated in 1970, formed by a bunch of guys, mostly foreigners that lived and worked in the San Francisco Bay Area. Alameda United was one of the founding teams of the East Bay Senior Soccer League. Initially, the EBSSL was comprised of eight teams throughout the East Bay.
Through the years, it became apparent that one team could not accommodate all the players that showed an interest. Accordingly, the team expanded and formed a club along with a board to manage it. Today, we are a registered California Nonprofit Mutual Benefit Corporation officially known as Alameda United F.C. The club consists of four teams, United, Celtic, Athletic and the infamous Old Boys.
Since inception, Alameda United F.C. teams have been very competitive through these nearly 40 years. Alameda United F.C.’s success can be attributed to the many people that have sacrificed some of their personal time to make certain that all the teams and players can enjoy soccer. The club is very appreciative of these individuals and encourages others to step forward and offer their time. This will ensure success and continuity for years to come.
