We are the Diamond Marching Band. The Pride of the Cherry and White. The Temple University Band was founded in 1925. The band has experienced over 80 years of excellence and has performed at many venues across the country and the world.

-The Owl has been the schools mascot since the schools founding in the 1800's
-Temple was the first school in the United States to adopt the owl as its symbol
-Story has it the owl was adopted as a symbol for Temple, because Temple was initially a night school for ambitious young people of limited means
-Owl was the symbol of Athena
-The Temple marching band played in the first ever Sugar Bowl in 1935
-Temple also played in the Mirage Bowl in Tokyo and the Garden State Bowl in Giants Stadium
