- Description:
- My daughter and I started this group to:
1) Increase awareness of the 1994 Rwanda Genocide
2) Hold the Clintons accountable for not intervening
Each day, for 100 days, the Clintons did nothing while hundreds of thousands of women were raped & mutilated - over 800,000 blacks were butchered.
No amount of African charity work can make up for it-Clinton failed to stop one of mankind's worst genocides.

- 8-15 - Although Obama is the "presumptive" Democratic nominee, Hillary may end up with the nomination after all. In her usual crafty Clinton way, she kept going after many said her cause was a lost one, and kept amassing hundreds of additional delegates to the 2008 Democratic Convention. Hillary now has almost as many delegates as Obama and many Obama delegates pre-date the Rev Wright and "cling to their guns and religion" comment that pushed Obama's popularity lower than ever. Add in Hillary's not-so-subtle warning, "look what happened to Robert Kennedy" and it's possible that a roll call may not go Obama's way. So, we'll keep this site up and our efforts ongoing to keep the pressure on.
5/18 - Major push of Rwanda info to Centers of Influence. Today, I submitted blogs and wrote letters to 15 of the largest groups on barackobama.com Basically, my pitch to them is to not abandon Rwanda victims again. That justice for the victims and our own standards of conduct require that Clinton be forced out of the Presidential race because of Rwanda. I'll let you know about any significant developments because of what I did today.
5/13 - After some reflection, I wanted to correct some of the errors in Rush's response: http://look2thewest.wordpress.com/2008/05/13/rush-defends-clinton-on-rwanda-2/
5/9 - SUCCESS! Today 14 million people heard me ask Rush Limbaugh why black leaders do not hold the Clinton's accountable for letting 800,000 blacks perish in Rwanda. See http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_050908/content/01125115.guest.html for a transcript or audio of the call. Rush's answer was that "liberals rally around each other no matter what". However, it was strange to hear Rush come to the Clinton's defense by claiming Bill Clinton had Haiti to deal with (Bush proved you can fight two wars at once) and that "at leaast Bill Clinton apologized" - how can any apology be good enough for letting 800,000 people die? Regardless - getting our message out to 14 million people was a big step forward. Perhaps someone in that vast audience, including liberals like Keith Olberman who have their staff listen to find snippets to use against Rush. Maybe, maybe, they'll start asking the Clintons about Rwanda.
4/28 - Today Rev Wright made many angry comments about America but no mention of Rwanda. Why? Why wouldn't a Afro-Centric leader give America a pass on Rwanda?
4/21 - The official schedule of Hillary was released recently. It would be very interesting to see where Hillary was during the Genocide, who she met with and what's redacted. What was she doing that was more important than saving 800,000 blacks from being butchered to death? Also, there have been recent articles by Christopher Hutchins that puts for this theory - that Bill campaigned in 1992 to intervene in Bosnia but did not until the late 1990s because Hillary did not want a messy genocide intervention distracting from her health care plan. If true, that could be why no intervention in Rwanda - the schedule will help us answer the quesiotn.
3/25 - It's been hard to keep up the enthusiasm when no one wants to talk about Rwanda. If anyone else has had some success, please let me know. This evening, I submitted a comment to the Anderson Cooper blog @ cnn.com/360 I'll let you know if he mentions Rwanda in the second hour of his show from 11pm to Midnight EST.
1/21 - SUCCESS!! Rwanda was finally mentioned on a national broadcast! During CNN's post-debate coverage, Roland Martin, a CNN contributor said he thinks Toni Morrison should apologize for calling Billl Cliinton, "the nation's first black President" because a) he threw Lani Guinier under the bus and, b) Clinton let 400,000 blacks die in Rwanda. Wow! Finally! The conversation has begun and hopefully the pressure will hold the Clinton's accountable.
1/21 - Tonight is the CNN / Congressional Black Caucus debate for Hillary, Obama & Edwards. Wouldn't it be great if we could get the moderator or one of the candidates to raise the Rwanda issue?
1/21 - check out this video on YouTube:

1/20 - I managed to get my kids help emailing several members of the Congressional Black Caucus and the media. Our plan was to provoke a discussion about why black leaders aren't angry that the Clintons let hundreds of thousands of blacks die needlessly. We emailed Anderson Cooper and Joe Johns @ CNN, Magic Johnson, et al.
1/10 - Does anyone know what the Clintons were doing during the genocide? It began April 6, 1994 and ended in mid-July. What was she doing that was more important than speaking out about a genocide of 56,000 blacks per week?
1/7 - Check out this YouTube with my comment: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I6YnZx11D4U
1/6 - OK - no mention of Rwanda in the facebook debate last night but...Hillary has promised to answer the top 5 quesitons posted to www.hillaryclinton.com/ask. Wouldn't it be great if she got lots of questions about Rwanda from this group?
1/5 - Debate tonight! ABC News and Facebook will host presidential debates at 7pm EST for both the GOP & Dems. It would be great to hear Rwanda discussed. Help us contact:
Media - ABC News, NH reporters, WMUR staff, Facebook folk
Campaigns - Obama, Edwards, Paul, Thompson
Party leaders - Terry McAuliffe, Howard Dean, Joe Lieberman
Black Leaders - NH NAACP, Andrew Young, SC Black Ministers
Feminist Leaders - NOW, Boxer, Feinstein, Collins, Snowe
12/31 - Stayed up all night drafting an LTE to the Boston Globe and a My Tun (a 590 word LTE) to the Burlington (VT) Free Press. Hopefully, they'll publish them this week.
12/30 - More success! On This Week with George Stephanopolos, Hillary said she suggested to Bill that he intervene. Setting aside the fact this is probably a BALD-FACE LIE, what self-avowed feminist would ask their hubby to stop a genocide, he says no and she just waits quietly while 56,000 tutsis die each week?
12/26 - Success! First sighting of a reporter asking Hillary directly about Rwanda. Hillary declined to comment but the fact that a Times reporter asked her about it is the first crack in the dam that's been preventing Justice 4 Rwanda. More @ http://Look2theWest.blogspot.com.
12/26 - Sent email to Al Hunt about article saying Hillary is odds on favorite in LV – Wanna Bet?
12/24 - Magic Johnson campaigned recently with the Clintons. You can see the You Tube video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WypfzOaPBcg. Let Magic know what you think about a leading African-American athlete supporting a couple that allowed 800,000 Africans to be slaughtered.
12/18 - My daughter and I left nine or ten comments on YouTube videos regarding the Clintons. We discovered that only positive comments were allowed on official Clinton videos. Other campaigns did not censor comments left on their official videos.
12/12 - sent emails to Dateline NBC, Meet the Press, The Today Show and CNN - no responses.
12/10 - sent email to Michelle Obama, appealing to her compassion for the hundreds of thousands of black women raped and murdered during the genocide
12/10 - comment left at a YouTube vidoe where Andrew Young asserts that Bill Clinton is "blacker than Obama because he's been with more black women."
12/7 - my daughter sends an email to Tyra Banks
11/28 - first emails were sent out to kiva.org and Matt Rodriguez at Barack Obama's NH HQ.
