My My is a group of producers and DJ's which formed in 2003 during the rebirth of Berlin as an electronic music Mecca. Although they consider Playhouse to be their home label, they have also released on Circus Company, Aus and Ostgut Ton.
In 2006, their debut album Songs for the Gentle launched a tour of their Live show that has so far taken them to 20 countries around the globe, and they hope their second album, still in production, will take them even further.
Nicolas Höppner now balances his monthly appearances at the new Panorama Bar and Berghain with his role as label manager for the Ostgut Ton label, and studio work and touring with MyMy and as a solo DJ.

The Swiss Arts Council, Pro Helvetia, the Shift Festival, Miro China/Cheesebeat and micro are proud to present their first joint initiative Switch On. Switch On showcases artists from Switzerland and China who are active at the interface of electronic music and related visual arts connecting in a crossover programme.
The project will be the first in a series of exhibitions and workshops in the field of electronic arts, which will take place until the middle of 2010 as part of Pro Helvetia’s overall project in China. It aims at enabling a lasting cultural exchange between the two countries’ art scenes.
Switch On presents interdisciplinary projects ranging from audiovisual performance to electronic music. An extensive programme of crossover projects rooted in experimental electronic music and cutting edge dance music will give Swiss and Chinese artists ample opportunities to meet and mingle. Switch On’s major focus is the interface of sound and visuals: abstract tones, rhythmic grooves and video, which merge in various combinations to stretch the limits of audio-visual experience.

Artists
Ben Huang (CN), DJ
One of the foremost Chinese DJs and among the first to break out onto the international stage, Ben Huang has played a crucial role in establishing electronic music in China. The man earned his limelight by being among the front-runners to jump-start the early days of the Beijing club scene and consolidate events such as Technasia in China. His DJ sets combine everything from experimental and nu jazz thru to minimal techno to create a unique energetic sound.

Bang Goes and Styro 2000 (CH), DJs
Styro 2000 and Bang Goes are the godfathers of Techno in Zurich. Since their first DJ appearances back in the early 90ties, they played at hundreds of parties and in clubs at home and all over the world. They also form the live act “Galoppierende Zuversicht” and released on labels like RecRec, Bruckstücke, K7 and Substrat among others.

Cheesebeat (CN & CH)
Cheesebeat is a Swiss- and China-based Event-Label for electronic music founded 1996 in Beijing. The main goal of Cheesebeat is cultural exchange in field of electronic arts. After countless events in China between 1996 and 2004, this legendary party label continues to invite Chinese artists to Switzerland and builds bridges between the two subculture scenes.
Galoppierende Zuversicht (CH), Live Act
No matter where- at an underground party or a major festival, Zurich based musicians Marcel Ackerknecht (aka Styro 2000) and Roland Widmer (aka Bang Goes) are known under their collective alias, Galoppierende Zuversicht (“Galloping Confidence”) for a characteristic mix of techno and electro. They have masterminded countless musical highlights over the years. Defiantly averse to performing with laptops, they choose instead to work with homemade samplers to produce the inimitable, tailor-made sound of Galoppierende Zuversicht. Galoppierende Zuversicht debuted in China along with Cheesebeat in 2003.
Larytta (CH), Live Act
Larytta was founded in 2004 by the duo, Christian Pahud and Guy Meldem, whose energetic, creative mix of everyday sounds, guitar loops, rhythmic beats and vocals adds up to a singular, experimental style of electro-pop. Champions of Lausanne’s lively music and arts scene, Pahud and Meldem are also involved in a number of crossover style co-productions and have worked with video artist Emanuelle Antille, among others. Larytta’s graphic design is the domain of artists’ collective Körner Union, of which Guy Meldem is also a member. Together with artist Tatiana Rhis, Larytta is currently working on new ideas for the interplay of music and video. These will be presented for the first time at Switch On.

Sonja Moonear (CH), DJ
Sonja Moonear is without doubt one of the best and most sought after Swiss DJs for techno. In the last couple of years she’s been booked by major festivals and clubs around the globe, and also released her own tracks and remixes on renowned international labels such as Karat and Perlon. This artist from Geneva evades easy categorisation however: her sets reflect an enormous wealth of ideas and creativity and lead her to perpetually redefine her style.

Strotter Inst. & Flo Kaufmann (CH), Live Act
Strotter Inst. and Flo Kaufmann are among the most important exponents of the vibrant Swiss scene, poised at the intersections of homespun craftsmanship, music, performance and art. A “DIY” attitude is central to their work. Strotter Inst. modifies record players to produce live sound sculptures that make electronic music acoustically comprehensible adding an optical perk to their performances. Flo Kaufmann, who amongst other things managed a vinyl pressing plant, stretches the boundaries of sound production by utilizing common objects like beer cans, which he cuts to create an inventive sound and adds it to the basis of their unique life concerts..

The micro DJ collective rubs up against Shanghai's Jazz scene and gets down to some twisted installation artistry on Saturday 8 December, at The Shelter.
micro, Shanghai's premier minimal art platform, joins brand spanking new venue, The Shelter, to present microshelter.
The micro DJ collective's infamous minimal house/techno versus leaders of the Shanghai Jazz scene, Coco Zhao, JQ Whitcomb & Vladimir - in an otherworldly art installation by recent London Royal School of Art graduate, masterly light and installation
artist, Simon Husslein.
这次,micro DJ团决定和上海的爵士乐人拗上劲,在上海全新开业的The Shelter里举办今年最后一场micro——microshelter。全新的场地The Shelter(原先的Blue Ice)在经过被Simon Husslein(Lodon Royal School of Art毕业生)精心布置后充满来世艺术的气息,由团众所周知的minimal house/techno DJ团对抗上海爵士乐的先锋人物Coco Zhao赵可、JQ Whitcomb以及 Vladimir。
