Advocates for Action is an advocacy programme run by young people for young people. We aim to address the injustices surrounding Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights for young people around the world.

Young people are disproportionately affected by Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs), unplanned pregnancy and unsafe abortions:

- Pregnancy is a leading cause of death for young women worldwide.

- Unsafe sex is the second most important risk factor leading to disability or death in the poorest communities around the world.

- 60% of all new HIV infections occur in people between the ages of 15 and 24. Of these new infections, 60% occur in young women.

Yet the Department for International Development has no clear policy that addresses the specific needs of young people. Young people are institutionally ignored in the policy making processes that affect their health and lives. We are determined to take our seat at the table and get the government to take action to address this injustice. (read less)
