It could be as simple as cutting the plastic rings on a six pack of soda, or as grand as inventing a biodegradable beverage bottle. If we like your idea, you could join the Coastal CODE and three other ocean-minded individuals for the 2009 Alaskan Coastal Expedition this fall.
As one of the four chosen “CODE Keepers,” you will get the chance to embark on a weeklong journey of true Alaskan adventures such as surfing in Yakutat and sustainable fishing. Along the way you will learn about the global impact of marine debris and how to help preserve the remote shores of Alaska. By the end of your journey you’ll have learned how to really make a difference for your own local coastline.
Apply between April and July 1 by submitting your 140-character response on our Facebook wall.

Look out for Coastal CODE and Alaskan Brewing events in your area where you can apply in person via printed application forms. Choose your words carefully; you are only 140 characters from the adventure of a lifetime! The Expedition embarks on September 14th, 2009.
After July 1st, the Coastal CODE, Alaskan Brewing and Wend Magazine will narrow the list of great ideas to a select few.
