Jim was invited to speak at a conference in Paris on the 29th of Feb. It was about composing music for public spaces with lots of interesting opinion from both composers and promoters, It was organised by Luex Publics from Marseille along with SACEM and French arts magazine Mouvement.

We are proud to announce that our Galician piper Edelmiro Fernandez has just won the coveted MacCrimon award for piping.

La Banda Europa is delighted with the response from the 1200 strong crowd at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall who gave us a five minute standing ovation! New band members for this event included Juraj dufek from Slovakia on Fujara flute, Rory Campbell from Scotland on border pipes Torbjorn Hultmark from Sweden on trumpet and Louise Martin from Scotland on Cello
