As former MOOers, FOOers, and trip leaders, our Middlebury experiences wouldn't have been the same without this amazing outdoor orientation program. We understand the College's need to trim costs in tough economic times, however, we are concerned that the decision to cut this important program is penny wise, but pound foolish. The bonds that are created during MOO/FOO and the foundation these trips create for a successful Middlebury experience are not quantifiable. What we know is the GORP, blisters, sleeping tarps, photo contests, refried beans, and long-lasting bonds must hike, paddle, and climb on!

We feel this program is vital to the Middlebury College experience. We want to work with the College to see that it can be preserved. (read less)
