Born and raised in Topeka, Kansas, Reggie B grew up in a musical household with his mother being a singer and his father, a funk fusion/jazz musician. He was considered a child prodigy, playing music by ear at the age of 3 with no formal training. By the time he was 9, Reggie was the main musician at his church and as a teen, he accompanied his father playing in various clubs. While his main instrument is the piano, Reggie can also play the drums, guitar and bass. At 17, he started to sing as well which is why he is dubbed as a "one man band". Reggie's influences include Parliament /Funkadelic, Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Frank Zappa, Prince and names Jimi Hendrix as one of his all time favorites.
Reggie is affiliated with the INnate Sounds Crew which is a record label based in Kansas City and now resides in San Diego, California. In September 2007, Reggie released his album, Go through the Japanese Circulations label. More recently Reggie teamed up with Daru Jones, an up and coming producer to release a joint project entitled, Future Music in December 2007 through the UK based record label 4Lux.
