Something to reflect on: (Selah)
The paradigm of Jesus Popularity and The Good News seems to have been lost!
How do we regain and restablish the gospel, the GOOD NEWS, not woo is me, news?
"I think its time to convey a biblical worldview to those that do not know who Christ is!," AppleJaxx,

Its funny how people paint the church in America as "persecuted" like we have to hide from the wrath of public opinion. We don't have to fear being killed, churches blown up or being beheaded for being a Christian. So why are we hiding in the four walls of the church?

Its good to have ministry to the body but what about outreach to those who are not in the body?

Over 80 % of Americans call themselves Christians, they like songs like Black Eyed Peas "Where Is The Love" and Kanye West "Jesus Walks" given those are written by secular artist with moral and social issues that are contrary to the gospel. However since the population largely call themselves Christian then songs with Christian message in them that get radio play become popular. Preferably as real believers we want converted believers presenting the messsage of good news not those with compromise morals saying "Jesus Walks" with us.

People need to study writting of the reformer Martin Luther wrote the Two Kingdoms to understand how we should operate in the Church and in the World. Its a powerful teaching.

Understanding how to operate in the Church and properly in the world is something that is misunderstood by many modern Christians. If you read Acts 2:42-47 they were daily together with friends, family, etc and the Lord added many to their number because they mixed it up with sinners, tax collectors, prostitutes, etc just like Jesus did and the preached GOOD NEWS. Just like Jesus they were with "sinners." The modern Church has withdrawn from the world.

Who doesn't want good news. See there was a shift in America after Johnathen Edwards "Sinners in the hands of an angry God" to judgment and telling people they are going to hell. Where the God says God is a loving God not angry, For God so loved the world. Too many "altar calls" are based on fear, manipulation and control. So there is a reverse pardigm in the church that wrath and anger of God is the key to getting people to church.

But then I read in the word "His kindness leads to repentance" and they will know "we are his disciples by our love" and look at this confrontational and even forceful aproach to doctrine and conversion and see there is the lack of community the first century church had, lack of outreach / being involved with the community and a lack of connection with culture.

The church has its own culture, even though Paul says "remain as you were when you were called." Basically don't change from being you, don't get ride of your friends. Be yourself, stay sanctified "hate sin with a perfect hate" don't battle against people but the spiritual principalities rulling their lives. Love the devil out of people not beat your view of "god" into them. The church shouldn't have a counter culture, we should be sanctified from sin but in relationship with sinners. We don't have Christian cars, or Christian Jobs but the bible says to work your "secular" job as unto the Lord. So if you rap, rap unto the Lord. You don't have to call your rap Christian rap. If you work at At&T you don't say I'm a "Christian AT&T employee" no you just say I work for "AT&T" and if you apply to those who in Christian Rap who say if you don't call it Christian Rap then that AT&T worker isn't giving glory to God. But you can't judge their heart just because they work at AT&T doesn't make them non-Christian. If they work hard as unto God and try to show themselves approved a worker who does far and works right, who handles worldy mammon right then God will entrust him with true riches. However many over look that God says if you can't handle "worldly mammon who will trust you with true riches." Its funny, they want to act like they are societal outcasts and hide like they are "omish" however God has not called us to withdrawl but to GO INTO THE WORLD not hide from it.

There is a paradigm shift that needs to happen that see's the world as lost and our message "GOOD NEWS." We preach judgment and wrath not the good news. Jesus healed the sick, preached good news, cast out demons, preached on how to handle life, money, employers, etc... He gave good news and drew a crowd. JESUS WAS POPULAR by most people. Only a SMALL GROUP of religious Pharisees & Saducees where mad with him. But everyone wants to use the Pharisees and Saducees as an excuse to hide and act like Jesus suffered great persecution. Before the cross he was only questioned by them and they were afraid to have Jesus killed because he was so POPULAR.

JESUS WAS POP, he drew MAJOR CROWDS, until he said near the end "unless you eat my flesh and drink my blood" and then the crowds withdrew. Jesus had to do this to prepare to be crucified. He would have stayed popular but it was that he had to fulfill the purpose of God to die for our sins. Before that he was so popular that people had to be dropped down threw cielings and had to press through crowds or climb trees just to see hiim.

Come on do people not read the bible? Jesus wasn't an outcast until the crucification. He was very popular wherever he went even in his home town where great crowds still grew but a few said "isn't this the carpenters son" it was always a jealous few that didn't like him but he still had crowds of thousands.

So why do we only have crowds of ten and hundreds. We're supposed to do greater works.

What happened to the good news. Jesus died to give life not death. We have the power to speak life not death in our tonues. We should choose to live by blessing and not curses. People must not read John 3:17 "for He did not come into the world to condemn it, but that through Him they might be saved." Not only is Jesus Gods love and good news expressed He didn't come to CONDEMN SINNERS.

Jesus never attacked a sinner, he would preach the truth and they would be convicted and repent. Jesus didn't do altar calls his worlds spoke truth that called them to repent and they did. Peters didn't do an altar call on Pentecost but they asked "what must we do to be saved." If we preach the good news and truth in love people will come to us to get the good news and get saved.

If America is 80 percent Christian WE ARE THE MAINSTREAM. Maybe there is alot of undiscipled and undisciplined Christian who aren't sanctified but we ca atleast focus on reachng the 80 % who don't seem to understand the good news to help us reach the other 20 percent that aren't "christian." Given the fact that only about 8% of Americans practice biblical Christianity, that still gives us an audience that is larger than non-Christians to market to. That is why songs like Jesus Walks and Where Is The Love do good. Because they may have discipleship, sanctification and moral issues but they do believe in Jesus and want to hear good news. The song Jesus Walks presents "good news" Jesus Walks with us all. Now it leaves out the truth that sin is wrong and there is cussing. However even though its not the full gospel its something people liked and where signing "Jesus Walks With Me."

One thing that people overlook or don't approach right is Money & The Christian. They need to Handle their business right. Jesus said "if you can not handle worldly mammon then who will trust you with true riches." Basically if you can't handle the worlds economy, money and market right then whose going to trust you with Gods true riches. The bible says a "worker is worthy of his wages." Yet, churches who are 501 3c companies, with a board, a treasurer a secretary, with parsonages, 401ks, health insurance, a salary, etc... And yet they want you to come to their church and perform for free and they say do it that way because what your doing as a gospel rapper is a "ministry" well if your a ministry and you should just live off of love offering or do it free for ministry then they should to but they don't. However the corporate church matrix full of Hirlings and not true Shepherds.

The truth is the workers, Christian Rap Ministers, work hard to buy or make quality beats, pay for quality recording, pay for quality mixing and mastering, need money and support for good marketing and promotion and to feed their families. If the Pastors of Church Businesses are so well compensated then the Holy Hip Hop Ministers should be properly compensated for a "worker is worthy of his wage" and if they can handle "worldly mammon" then they should be able to "handle true riches." Its funny that 501 3c NON-PROFIT corporations that make profits enough to pay salaries, parsonagies, healthcare, retirement plans, pastoral cars, etc... but won't pay a Christian Rapper to perform. It seems the reality of Church ministry and the way its portrayed and what they ask others to do for them free and call it "ministry" seems a little off.

The bible talkes about being a good steward and if you got one treasure to multiply it. Paul says that "treasure is stored up in eathern/or clay vessels" man was made from Clay from the dust of the earth. We are to look at people as our treasure that is everlasting NOT MONEY. Yes we are to be good stewards of our money however more importantly we must be good stewards of the souls God has given us and increase the size of the kingdom by bringing lost souls in, turning "vessels of dishonor into vessels of honor."

We need a major paradigm and biblical foundation shift towards biblical Christianity not American Corporate Church structure and denomination dogma. Its time to live as believers in a world of pain without the good news of freedom from that pain. Jesus prayed, "Lord I do not ask that you don't take them out of the world but that you keep them." If Gods goals was to save us and make us "omish" then he would rapture people at salvation because their would be no further need for them to live on this planet. Jesus admited we must remain in the world however not be apart of the "acts of sin" when the prostitute was washing Jesus feet he didn't sin however we should reach the same people Jesus did. He spent most his time OUTSIDE THE CHURCH preaching GOOD NEWS to people who wanted and Jesus was very popular for the majority of his ministry drawing enormous crowds. Paul even when into the secular forum and reference foriegn poets and "gods" to connect with his crowd when brought before the Areopagus in Acts 17.

We need to revamp our view of Jesus, he was not a tall blonde haired European. He was a Jewish looking man who fit in with Jewish people who spoke to their needs in a real way that brough excitement and healing about the message and life and good fruit came from it.
