Nono ['.']{'.'}
It's nearly five years now since DJs Aaron Howes and Jason Moore first created the Nono project. Hailing from humble beginnings as club brand Nonodisco based in the heart of the UK, the pairing met as resident DJs and soon formed a formidable partnership through their love of all things glitch and secondly, Ableton (!).
After many an hour spent with cables, effects units, audio interfaces, plugins and all manner of channel combinations, the duo finally took their trademark dual-laptop, multi mixer, decks and effects show on the road and enjoyed a wealth of gigs across the UK and Europe in support of the worlds DJ elite.
Not ones to stop at this, the boys wanted to use their spare time burying their heads in yet more computer trickery, tentatively treading their way into the heady world of production. A string of releases soon followed, having had their debut Ram Ep snapped up by Minimal and Melodies Music based in Budapest, Hungary within weeks of sending it out. As with releases, comes inevitable remixes, with the boys being involved with the likes of Steve Parker, Sunburnt Octopus, Danzai, Citizen Kane and Pablo Rez. The latter, 'Kaika' by Pablo Rez being released on German label Fullscale Music early '09 as part of the huge Inhousemovement release which also features the likes of Marcus Fix, Mutant Clan and Audiofly X.
DJing has now taken a back seat as far as the Nono project is concerned as they continue to master their studio trade, although they are known to take to the decks separately on occasion for the right price! And there is always their solo projects which have taken a hold in their own right.
All is not lost though, as they still find time to host their own weekly radio show; the aptly named 'NonoRadio' on webstation RhubarbRadio.Com every Monday evening between 9 and 11 gmt which broadcasts from the very place that made them who they are today... The Custard Factory in Birmingham.
