On November 6, 2005, SHIMMER Women Athletes, an independent pro-wrestling company concieved by Dave Prazak and Allison Danger, made its debut. The goal of the company has been to showcase women's wrestling in the U.S. more along the lines of an athletic competition, as opposed to the general image by many wrestling fans of it being a T & A show.
Since its inception, 22 full-length shows have been produced, filled with a number of future classics between such talented wrestlers as Cheerleader Melissa, MsChif, Sara Del Ray, Allison Danger, Mercedes Martinez, Reb ecca Knox, Daizee Haze, Lacey, and many others. Also, a national DVD distribution has been obtained.
For two years now, SHIMMER has been a bright spot in the world of professional wrestling, continuing to grow and help show people that women's wrestling can be taken seriously in the U.S., as well as show that women wrestlers can be be held in as high regard as any of the men.
