KETC/Channel 9 invites you to join our official group for St. Louis Stories: The Jewish Americans.
In April, KETC will rebroadcast a three-part documentary series about the history of Jewish immigrants in America. Written and directed by the Emmy Award-winning filmmaker David Grubin, The Jewish Americans examines the struggle of a tiny minority to make its way into the American mainstream. While the story of Jewish life in America is emblematic of the American immigrant story, it is also a unique story of ongoing discrimination and stereotyping. You might be surprised to find that some of the most remarkable accomplishments in American history have come from people of a Jewish descent.
Are you Jewish? Or do you know someone that’s Jewish? If you have a story to share, join in our discussion and you can even upload video stories right to this page! By taking part in Channel 9’s ST. LOUIS STORIES, you can share your own piece of Jewish-American history.
And be sure to catch The Jewish Americans on PBS, along with an hour-long special produced by Living St. Louis’ Jim Kirchherr. Then post your responses to the film and start your own discussion.
