- This group aims to dispell the absurd myth that all Europe needed in order to develop the renaissance came from the Islamic world. Because in reality the vast majority of pre-renaissance mathematics and science came into medieval western Europe either from Byzantine origins or from the Byzantine Empire directly.
The Byzantine Empire started out as the eastern half of the old Roman Empire which outlasted the collapse of the Roman Empire in the west and actually reconquered half of the former western Roman Empire's territories for Imperial Christendom. The Byzantine Empire was a bulwark of Christian defiance against Islamic imperialism and tyranny for more than 800 years and arguably prevented all Europe from falling under the Islamic yolk in short order.
In reality Islamic civilisation only got started after the Muslim hoards poured out of the Arabian peninsular and conquered the heavily Hellenised (Greek cultured) countries of Mesopotamia, Syria, Egypt and Libya (North Africa) which up until this episode of unprovoked Islamic military rage had all been Christian countries and the Zoroastrian Sassanian Empire of Persia, which like Byzantium was also an ancient civilisation.
When Islam first started out in south west Arabia the Arabs who became the first Muslims were nothing more than a cluster of nomads from a culture that didn't have the capacity to build cities, let alone create great scholars. Indeed there is signifficant evidence to suggest that large section's of the Koran and Hadiths were actually plagerism's from Roman laws already long established in the Byzantine Empire by the time they were 're-written'.
It is from these civilisations that the Muslim invaders acquired the means (and the personnel) to create what many Muslims today call 'their' civilisation.
In addition to these bloody conquests other equally atrocious wars of naked aggression were perpetrated on the part of these Islamic war criminals against other less notable realms, such as the Hispano-Vandal Kingdom of Vandalusia, which was conquered by Muslim armies in an unprovoked campaign of terror in the 8th century, - less than 100 years after the death of Mohammed the founded Islam.
However, it is true to say that the name 'Mohammed' probably wasn't even his real name and that far from being the most perfect man ever to live, he actually spent most of his normal working life before his 'miraculous calling' as a mere date merchant in the Christian city of Damascas, where he would have been in a very strong position to learn from and assymilate 6th century East Roman Christian culture.
The greatest intellectual exodus in human history occured at the fall of the Byzantine Empire, when the caliphatic (Islamic) state of the Ottomans finally overwhelmed Byzantium's capitol and last stronghold; Constantinople, in a massive battle that pitted 7,000 poorly armed Christian defenders against at least 600,000 Jihadi fanatics, which the Byzantines nearly won.
In the end the Jihadist forces only won by blockading Christian forces trying to relieve the beleagured Byzantines by sea, by starving the city to its knees and by smashing open Constantinople's aged yet still formidable defences with the newest in heavy artillery and siege mines, which the Byzantines didn't have. When the Islamic hoardes finaly sacked the city, NO ONE was spared and a great deal of Constantinople's superior and ancient architectural engineering was casualy obliterated and ransacked by this perverted army of mindless destroyers!
