In January, 2009, _Stealing Buddha's Dinner_ was announced as the inaugural book for Purdue's common reading project. _Stealing Buddha's Dinner_ was written by Purdue University Associate Professor of English Bich Minh Nguyen, and portrays the coming-of-age story of a vietnamese immigrant (Bich) growing up in Grand Rapids, MI in the 1970s and 1980s.
