Hi there fellow leafians! For those who do not know me, I am Lachie, the Social Networking Sub-Convenor for the La Trobe Environmental Action Forum!

*Community Garden* - LEAF is proud to announce that it is supporting a meeting to establish La Trobe Bendigo's first Community Garden on Monday the 7th of September (see event page for details). Josh Tucker, with the support of several others have helped to bring a 'Greening La Trobe' dream to reality, please get in and support this amazing effort whole heartedly!

LEAF is 'gathering the troops' to go down to the Hazelwood Coal Power Station on Sunday the 13th of September to protest against pollutant power producing, and to support sustainable, environmentally freindly initiatives such as solar, wind and geothermal energy. for more info check out the event link on this page, and/or visit http://www.switchoffhazelwood.org/

LEAF is holding regular meetings in the SU building of La Trobe University, Bendigo. Meetings are often accompanied by uplifting tea, delicious food and stimulating conversation! EVERYBODY is welcome to LEAF meetings and you will be more than welcomed into the LEAF community!

If you were unfortunate enough to miss Live and Leafy 2009 you missed out on A LOT! The food was scrumptious and the entertainment was incredible...there is absoluetly oodles of talent about at the moment. A special thanks to Josh Huitson, for asking the question, and rewarding us all with the performance of Kutcha Edwards (Indigenous Austalian of the Year 2001-02). Money raised on the night goes towards assisting the plight of the Goolarabooloo people of Broome in protecting their sacred songlines from destruction, in the name of producing more gas. A mammoth sized thankyou goes out to all those who attended and donated to this cause, we will keep you posted on this cause!

Feel free to add feedback in our comments section, e-mail us, or approach any of us friendly LEAFy types around campus for more info about the club!

Peace, love and happiness,

Lachie
