I just got back from a trip to Tanzania with my brother, cousin and friend. While stopped on the side of the road near a local village, a child came up to the jeep to say hello and ask for something. I tried offering him anything I could find in the car that I thought he would like. I offered a bottle of water, candy and a toy. He didn't want any of those things. Then I took out a pencil and his face lit up. Suddenly 20 children were crowded around my car window. Luckily I had enough pencils and pencil sharpeners for all of them. Over the two weeks in Tanzania we found this to be a constant theme everywhere we went. Many of these chiildren awake early in the morning and walk miles to the nearest schoolhouse. They have no money, supplies or transportation, yet education is their number one priority. These children need our help. It's such an easy thing for us to do. My brother and I want to send ONE MILLION PENCILS to Tanzania this year. Please help us help these adorable children who just want to learn! Send a box of pencils today to the above address!!
