The absence of dialogue in the Lebanese arena is an existential dilemma; indeed, it is essential for multicultural societies – should they elect to remain as such – to discuss and eventually agree on a common set of values and a vision for the state and the future.
To ignite dialogue at the grassroots level, and create an open space hoping that authentic interchange would one day lead to a genuine dialogue among the political class, Na-aM lil Hiwar was launched in Beirut in February 2006. Na-aM lil Hiwar is a weekly dialogue in an informal setting, where youth come to listen to a guest speaker and join in a debate and discussion afterwards.
By launching dialogue sessions in all regions, this project aims to create dialogue opportunities for youth from different social, economic and political background all over the country. It empowers them with basic tools and experience on how to properly conduct dialogue activities, and how to document and diffuse this information.
