It was also reported that Mr. Johns was killed while opening the door for his murderer. Mr. Johns' act of kindness embodies how great people can be. We should all look to Mr. Johns as an inspiration in our lives, and carry on his kindness in our lives. In that sense, Mr. Johns will still live on.

James Von Brunn, the shooter, is an 88-year old man. He is a holocaust denier, and has posted on websites against Jews and African Americans. He is being treated for his gunshot wound and is expected to survive.
