The PSE of Siemens Österreich doesn't exist any more, and Siemens wants to close down it's remaining R&D in Austria - SIS SDE - completely.
They intend to lay off every other of us.
They have no concept for the "survivors".

...::: 2009-07-26 Temporary easing of tension :::...
Things have relaxed - at least temporarily. Today it was announced that the lay-offs will be suspended until a task force will have worked on solutions for the current crisis; target date is end of November. Furthermore there will be a social compensation plan for employees wanting to leave the company before end of October. The works council is additionally requesting talks on business strategies and plans.

...::: 2009-07-26 Tumultuous "break of negotiations" :::...
Shortly after the break of negotiations was announced, and the chairman of the workers' council went on vacation, the company announced 600 lay-offs to the Austrian Unemployment Office. After works meetings and various discussions between representatives of the company and the workers' councils this seems to be status: An experts group shall consider the best solution for the threatened 600 jobs and their holders, and no lay-offs shall take place in 2009.

Welche Maßnahmen werden Sie als Arbeitsminister setzen, um die Kündigung von rund 700 Siemens-MitarbeiterInnen zu verhindern?
Von den Grünen eingebracht, die anderen Parteien stellen alle Zusatzfragen.

Nach bisher 7 Verhandlungsrunden zwischen Firmenleitung und Betriebsrat mit weitgehend unveränderten Standpunkten, aber immerhin beidseitiger Gesprächsbereitschaft gibt es urlaubsbedingt eine Verhandlungspause bis 20.07.

2000 MitarbeiterInnen, Familienangehörige und FreundInnen der ehemaligen Siemens PSE, nunmehr SIS SDE setzten ein eindrucksvolles Zeichen, indem sie dem schlechten Wetter trotzten und ihr Anliegen und ihre Sorgen zwischen der Staatsoper und dem Parlament artikulierten.
