Akin Khoo is there a futurist discussion? what kind of science are we talking about?

In the Far East, Chinese and Japanese Worlds (I unfortunately don't know about the very underestimated and look-like Peaceful Korean one), the number 4 四, is associated wih Death. Both words are said "si", with only a slight different pronounciation. 44 is even worse then. As far as Ive been told, India doesn't like th...e number 9. In the West, it is the number 666, that is assocated with the Devil, while the number 13 scares many (Manhattan for instance hasn't got a 13th street or avenue!). 33 as well, for Christians, is an important number as Christ died at this age. In Brazil, the number 24 is not positive at all, meaning that your partner is cheating on You, and so on in other countries On the brighter side, the number 8, and precisely 888 in Asia is the best You can find. Interesting as, through the Arab numeric system (the characters that are used with the Roman Alphabet), it is the number that fills a counter or the whole space allocated to it: think about your TV, VCR, microwave or other appliance where the numbers are displayed. It is also the infinite sign verticalised. But in Chinese characters, it is not that exciting, being simply represented by the following 八. Perhaps it is a sign for ascension, I do not know. As for in the West, we like the numbers 3 (the Trinity), 7 (God created the Earth in 7 days), 10 (our number of fingers) and 12 (the number of Disciples of Jesus). But here is my point. If we were to re-think this system, in a more Democratic way perhaps, where there wouldn't be prejudices to one or other groups of people (like those born on a friday the 13th, or on the April the 4th, or those who happen to be the 44th President, or those born in the country which area code is 44, etc..), wouldn't it be slightly better for them? And what about our time system? At the moment it is divided in 24 hours of 60 minutes, each consisting of 60 seconds. I wonder if they didn't do it to avoid the number 666.. What about thinking differently, just for a trial? There are for instance 86400 secs in one day. If we divide that in 3 periods (night, day and evening) of 80 hours, 8 mins and 45 secs, don't You think we can become more aware of the present and thus become more productive? Further research could be done for the 365 days of the year, as it could have been done to accomodate the number of 12 months, I am not an expert, just bringing some thought to attention. Anyway, in an ideal world, people should be less disadvantaged because of their numbers. Please do comment.Read More

Malaysia is doing a good job I believe. Rome wasn't built in one day!
The slogans (or resolutions) of every year's celebrations, as stated in the Wikipedia article:-D.

Adrian Pereira Malaysia still has a long way to go. What troubles me is everything looks good at surface level, but underneath, there is still a lot of work to do.15 Malaysia gives a slight glimps. But there is HOPE. There must be HOPE. But not a HOPE that will remain HOPE, but HOPE thats transform into action and critical discussions which will bring the Change.

邱偉 Qiu Wei oh, but it no slogan, it a date for fireworks. >:)
