- On weds. June 24th around 8:00am Head Coach Ed Thomas was shot numerous times while helping serveral high schoolers weight lift.Someone stepped inside with a loaded gun, pointed it at one of the students, and then deliberately shot Coach.
Coach Thomas was looking forward to coaching his 38th year of Aplington-Parkersburg Falcon football. He was the heart and soul of our school and community. He will be greatly missed, and always remembered. RIP Ed Thomas. We Love You - Privacy Type:

Through example, and by the way Coach Thomas lived his life, many young men are better human beings than they would have been had they never had the privilege of being coached by such a wonderful human being.
