Dear colleagues,

The ballot starts on 19 November and will now run an extra week until 17 December due to the postal dispute.
Mark received a brilliant 199 nominations. But now the job is to turn that branch support into votes. We can’t be complacent: Mark's opponent in the election will stand on a right wing agenda which would challenge everything we have done to change PCS into a progressive union. And postal ballots often have notoriously low turnouts, so we need to pull out all the stops.
First, and very importantly, please ensure your Branch makes a formal recommendation to support Mark and get that decision around members asap.

Secondly, please plan with your colleagues how you will campaign for a vote for Mark. For example, making sure every member in your own workplace has been contacted, and deciding which workplaces in your Branch/locality you might need to leaflet from outside.

A leaflet for distribution to members urging them to vote for Mark is attached to this email. Please copy it and use it as widely as you can. Putting it in members’ hands, and having a discussion, is best done a few days before the ballot starts. If you want bulk copies reply to this email with your postal address.
