The film series, “Historical Places of Bangladesh” is exactly what the name says. It is set to be a three part series (broken down according to the six divisions) and the first part includes Dhaka and Rajshahi Divisions, tentatively set to come out on July 2008. Unfortunately we obviously couldn’t cover all the sites, so the ones that were covered on the film are as follows:
from Dhaka Division we have: Ahsan Manzil, Lalbagh Fort, Dhakeswari Temple, Star Mosque and Sonargaon (Panam City, Bara Sardar Bari and the Sonakanda Fort).
from Rajshahi Division: Ramshagor Dighi, Kantajee’s Temple, Ksumba Mosque, Paharpur, Behula’s Nuptial House, Mohasthangarh and Puthia.
The Trailer for the first part is out so we request you to please check out the trailer and spread the word around!

Without a doubt, Bangladesh is blessed and adorned with countless mesmerizing “sites and scenes” where nature has woven its beauty very intricately; not only in terms of natural beauty, but also in terms of historical land marks. Although one can say Bangladesh was not a cornerstone in the pages of the history of the world, only by seeing and knowing about the diverse and beautiful historical relics scattered all over Bangladesh, can one truly comprehend another very important magnificence of our country.
Unfortunately, most or rather many of us in the new “young” generations are unaware of these historical relics: the reasons are certainly many, including how our education system is set up, how our society is, and of course our own negligence. Sadly even, most of the these historical sites are not at all well maintained by the government, let alone promote them or celebrate their importance.
Based on many such factors, we decided to document the important sites all over Bangladesh and compile it on a series so that at least people know about them. Of course we are not professionals and we have tried to keep the film fun-filled (to kill boredom), interesting and informal, in a different pace than the usual TV programs cover them. Our main aim is to shed light on these unattended sites, and pay proper tribute to them as we should. Alongside, we have also tried to trace back our history to 700 BC as much as possible, keeping it in relation to the sites covered. So mark July 2008 on your calendars folks! It’s coming! =D
