Philipp SNOW ALERT: The snow line starts a little past the half way mark and today there was 2 feet + at the top. Safe hiking!
Grouse Grind® Metro Vancouver have closed the Grouse Grind through the weekend as a result of the current snowfall. This closure will be re-assessed again on Monday.
Grouse Grind® The Grouse Grind remains closed this morning until Metro Vancouver can determine the condition of the trail after yesterday's high winds and heavy rainfall. It may re-open this afternoon; we'll post the info here as we receive it.

Newbie here from Los Angeles. Heading up to Vancouver on a business trip and contemplating my first pass at the Grind on Friday. Kinda know what I'm in for having taken the tram ride up and back last time I was there... Questions:
-How well marked is the trail (any forks or big miscues to lead folks astray)?
-What's t...he best way for an out of towner to catch a ride back down the gondola? Do they sell tickets at the top or do I need to get it in advance?
-I've got a 1:00 flight home so I'm assuming I'll want to start promptly at 7:30... Anyone allowed on the trail before then?Read More
