Grouse Grind®

Joel Payne Newbie here from Los Angeles. Heading up to Vancouver on a business trip and contemplating my first pass at the Grind on Friday. Kinda know what I'm in for having taken the tram ride up and back last time I was there... Questions:

-How well marked is the trail (any forks or big miscues to lead folks astray)?
-What's t...he best way for an out of towner to catch a ride back down the gondola? Do they sell tickets at the top or do I need to get it in advance?
-I've got a 1:00 flight home so I'm assuming I'll want to start promptly at 7:30... Anyone allowed on the trail before then?
