ART AFTER DARK
First Fridays at the Guggenheim
Nov 6, 9 pm-1 am
$25, FREE for Members
Holy Ghost! DJ set (DFA), composed of the critically acclaimed Brooklyn duo Nick Millhiser and Alex Frankel, performs at Art After Dark on Friday, November 6. One of the most exciting acts to recently come out of the indie-disco scene, Holy Ghost! is quickly becoming known for a clean and powerful sound that is sending waves of excitement through the electronic music world. Take in their unique sound as you ascend the Guggenheim’s spiraling ramp to see Kandinsky, the exhibition described by the New York Times as "sensational." During your visit, see how Kandinsky took inspiration from music in his pioneering efforts toward abstraction.

Please be aware that the November and December Art After Dark: First Fridays events will have priority admission for members and strictly limited capacity. Make sure to become a member and get in line early! Art After Dark will return in 2010 with new events and special offers for members.

I greatly admire James Rosenquist and I love his stories. He told me how he survived on the scaffold over Times Square. How he painted Kirk Douglas' cleft chin so deep you could see it for blocks. Later on in life the Douglas' collected his art, became friends and admire him too.
