Jol Dantzig

Jol Dantzig After 5 years of building in the basement and back room of Northern Prairie Music, the Palatine shop was Hamer's first "real" guitar-making space. Here's Jol in the office in 1978.

Are you looking to see if your fingernails are still there after a night of ax shredding? My 5 neck guitar playing neighbor, said that used to happen a lot back in those days.

How close was Hamer to Upstaging. We used to have to run to Upstaging, and I thought that Palatine, or Arlington Heights was near Upstaging.

Christopher Gatti

Christopher Gatti Saw Living Colour at the Highline Ballroom. For the encore, Vernon Reid busted out his old black (yin-yang) Chap/Centura. That guitar's odometer has been rolled over quite a few times. I saw him a couple years ago with his "Jack and the Beanstalk" Chap/Centura. Probably the most interesting guitar I have ever seen. . . .Do you have pics of that one, Jol?

Jol Dantzig How about a left-handed TLE Custom in Cherry Trans lacquer? This unknown musician says the boomerangs give him a headache...

I'm a bass player myself. So, yeah...when you clarified the bass part...I was for certain this is Paul. Rock it!

I knew that was the former Beetle bass player, I just don't understand the pose. He looks like he lost all of his money and has nothing left but the old TLE he slung over his shoulder.

Jol Dantzig Monday sunrise on the river of guitar love.

Source: guitarguru.typepad.com
Some folks dread Monday, but not us in The Workshop. As the beautiful New England fall sunrise burns the fog off the sparkling river outside our shop door, we're reminded of the possibilities we're handed each week. Can't wait to...
Arnold Graf

Arnold Graf Just got my new talladega pro and it's a wonderful guitar. By the way i think the newport jol is using as his facebook picture is now mine. (SN 554117). Stunning guitar. I own 11 Hamers and i am still adding. Best wishes from swizterland to all the Hamer maniacs out there.

Today The Workshop is located in the town of New Hartford, Connecticut, fifty yards from the Farmington River and some of the best fly fishing in America. It's a picturesque New England enclave with a population of just over 6000. From this vantage point you can see all of the "downtown". Just past the umbrellas in fro...nt of Chatterly's Cafe is the local hardware store where the owners know all of their customers by name.Read More
