In Half the Sky city, Luoyang, Henan, a large number of sacrificial horse burial pits have recently been discovered. Horses and wagons were apparently buried right along with their owners to indicate the status of the deceased.

Welcome to Half the Sky’s very first e-newsletter! It’s been slow-going for this tech-challenged little group but we are proud to be finally doing our bit to save trees and dollars. If you treasured those paper newsletters and love to save or share them, don’t despair. ...

Half the Sky is in America's Giving Challenge!

Hi everyone, we
just entered in America's Giving Challenge, which gives us a chance to
win cash prizes! To win, between now and November 7th we have to get the
most unique donations to our cause. We
can also win daily awards of $1,000 and $500 if we can get the most
peop...le to donate in any 24-hour period. The great thing about this
Challenge is that it doesn't matter how much you give, but instead how
much you do to encourage friends and family to get involved in our
cause. Anyone can donate to our cause (i.e. even without a Facebook
account). http://www.causes.com

Half the Sky Foundation Students who are active members of their college China Care Clubs helped out at the China Care Home at Half the Sky this summer. They learned first hand that medically fragile orphaned children -- just like children all over the world -- need hugs and support as they battle for their lives.
