Marvin Turrell Grant, 33, of Manteca. (City of Livermore Police Department)«1»PLEASANTON — The 33-year-old cousin of rapper MC Hammer was charged this morning with the forcible rape of a woman he met through the social media site Twitter.

Marvin Turell Grant of Manteca, a cast member on his cousin's reality TV series "Hammertime," did not enter a plea or have an attorney with him inside the Pleasanton courtroom.

Grant dressed in jeans, a blue plaid shirt and a blue sweater vest, he asked to be referred to the Alameda County Public Defender's Office, surprising the arraignment judge, who granted the request.

"You can post a $60,000 bail bond, but you need a public defender?" asked Judge Hugh Walker.

Grant was ordered not to have any contact with the woman, who is in her 40s

luv's this show ... this episode was soo heart-warming and very sincere. He truly loves God and his family. You can tell he is grateful and keeps positivity in his life.

I love the show also. I think he and his wife are surrounded by true blessings and as long as they continue to keep GOD first the success for his family and career will continue and continue.

I think if you win or lose, you should build a pool for the family...it gets darned hot in Tracy!!
