knocked at my door. When I opened the door, he handed me a card. on

I looked at the paper. It was a test result and on it was written: HIV
positive. You see my situation,' he said ' I am university student from
a nearby country. I should have finished my course this year. but I, am
not able to. I have been sick for several months. Last week I got
tested as you see. I had a girlfriend some time ago, and.... I
interrupted, I beg you, Madam. I am so weak, but I must reach my
village. if you can help me with 100 shillings, I will make it home. '
I looked at the younger man. He looked to be about age 23, but his thin,
frail body was already marked by the sickness. I gave him money to
travel and food, and he said, thanks very much, and God bless you. This

back my tears. What an awful disease that kills younger people at the
most productive years of their lives ! I thought of mans parents who
