Hellphone

Almost had an exciting update for you today, but was foiled. Should be in a day or so. -JMP

Been a slow few days as I’ve been battling a head cold. Not much to report, other than we have a rough cut of both the movie and music video for the end credits song. -JMP

This is a shot of the makeup used to make Nathan (Graham) appear to have been in a fight. In particular tossed across asphalt. We had to match this makeup a few days later, so this shot was taken to allow our awesome makeup artists (Lisa and Gretchen) to accurately do that. -JMP

The rough cut is done! It’s a pretty significant step in the post-production process. However, it is far from a finished film. A good analogy would be telling someone you are baking their favorite cake, and then showing them all the ingredients spread out on the counter. You can’t act...

And I’d like to thank all the volunteers who helped in all sorts of amazing ways to make Hellphone happen. From wrangling extras, building props, being on set all the time, keeping me sane and numerous other occupations, we really couldn’t have done it without all of you. Thank you! -JMP

Continuing the thanks from yesterday: We had a heckuva crew working on this movie! We had some long hours and some brutal weather, but they hung in there and constantly delivered their best. Could not have done it without them. -JMP

The internet makes getting the word out and keeping interest much easier. I was in Charlotte today and kept getting asked questions about Hellphone from people I see maybe once a year. Very encouraging! -JMP

Here’s a (very) short clip showcasing my awesome ability to get not only Stephen in the shot, but also myself! All with the camera set wrong. Fortunately, the rest of the takes I sorted myself out and got good coverage. -JMP

Here’s a shot of the basement of the Chamber of Commerce office. We ended up using this for “Anton’s apartment” in the film. It was the messiest scene in the movie, and this place had a hose and drain system in the floor which made cleanup a breeze.
