These sections show you a summary of your activity during a specific period of time. These summaries can include a variety of stories, like events you attended, photos you were tagged in and places you visited.

Hover over each box and click to hide that section from your Timeline or view individual stories from your Activity Log.

When you choose to view your Activity Log, you can scroll through all the stories from that section in your activity log. Click next to a story to hide it from your Timeline or delete it.

Note: When you hide a box from your Timeline, the individual stories may still be visible to the audience they're shared with on your Timeline and elsewhere on Facebook, such as in News Feed and search.

Edit Your Timeline

You can remove stories that you and your friends post on your Timeline (which we sometimes refer to as your profile). To remove a story from your Timeline:

  1. Go to your Timeline
  2. Hover over the story and click
  3. Select Delete... or Hide from Timeline from the dropdown menu
    • Hide from Timeline: Removes the story from your Timeline, not Facebook
    • Delete...: Removes the story from Facebook entirely

If you don't want something you're tagged in to appear on your Timeline, you'll need to remove the tag. When you remove a tag, the post will no longer appear on your Timeline. However, that post is still visible to the audience it's shared with other places on Facebook, such as in News Feed and search.

Deleting stories: Deleting a story will remove it from your Timeline and from Facebook. You have the option to delete the things you post on Facebook.

Hiding stories: Hiding a story will hide it from your Timeline, but it won't remove that story from Facebook. This means stories you hide are still visible to the audience they were shared with other places on Facebook (ex: in search or News Feed).
