We're sorry to hear that you're having trouble adding a credit card to your account or paying with a new credit card. Please make sure that the credit card number, address and other payment information are correct.
If you're still having trouble, please contact us.
To protect your financial information, we ask that you verify your account by providing the requested information. You may be asked to verify part of your credit card number, or provide a unique transaction code found on your credit card statement.
- The unique transaction code can be found on your credit card statement next to any of your purchases for your Facebook account. Please note that this code is not the Transaction ID from your receipt from Facebook.
- If you see a hold on your card statement, but no unique transaction code, please wait a few days for your information to post.
- If you can't access your credit card statement or if any charges from Facebook haven't posted, we may be unable to process your transaction. When you're able to access your statement, you can provide this information on your next order.
If you can't provide this information, please let us know.
Note: You'll only be asked to complete a Payment Verification when you attempt to make a purchase for Facebook Credits. We'll never ask you for your full credit card number, but we may ask for the first six digits.
This charge is a temporary authorization, and it should be removed from your card within 3-5 days. Facebook makes these charges to make sure that credit cards are valid.
If the charge remains on your statement longer than 3-5 days, please contact your bank.
We encourage families to have open and careful discussions about how they use Facebook and make purchases on Facebook. You should never allow your family or friends to access your Facebook account to buy in-game items on Facebook. If you want to use your credit card, PayPal or mobile phone to make a purchase on a family member’s account, be aware that once you have added the card number, PayPal account or mobile phone number, the owner of the Facebook account will not be required to reenter payment information or enter their password before making future purchases. We encourage parents to talk with family members about how they use Facebook games to ensure that they are making purchases responsibly.
However, there are other options if you want to help someone make a Facebook Games purchase. For example, you can buy Facebook Games gift cards in many stores, or you can use the online payment service PayPal to send and receive money that can be used to make purchases on Facebook.
Please note that when you provide payment information to us, you confirm that you are permitted to use that payment source while logged into your account, so never allow anyone except the authorized account holder to access your account.
When you make a payment through Facebook using your credit card, PayPal or mobile phone, the payment information will be stored in your Facebook account to make future payments as convenient as possible.
Please note that once your payment information has been saved for payments, you will not be required to enter your credit card information or PayPal password while logged into your Facebook account.
You can manage your stored payment methods on Facebook by going to the Payments tab. Click on Payment Methods, and you'll be able to manage your stored credit cards, PayPal accounts and mobile phone numbers.
Please contact that friend or family member to confirm they have made this purchase, and ask them to remove your payment information from their account by visiting https://secure.facebook.com/cards.php.
If you are unable to contact this friend or family member or are unable to confirm which friend or family member placed this charge, please contact us.
If you believe that these charges were made from your own Facebook account and want to prevent further accidental charges, you can remove any payment methods stored on your account by accessing:
You can then select the "Remove" option next to the desired credit card, PayPal account or mobile phone number you wish to remove from your account. Please note that when you provide payment information to us, you confirm that you are permitted to use that payment source while logged in to your account, so never allow anyone - except the authorized account holder - to access your account.
